Q-Inpalab, the Global Quality Association of Independent Packaging Laboratories, has been created in Vienna the 18th of June 2010. The organization is acting worldwide and has as target to bring the standard of quality in the packaging field to a higher level. This target refers to testing and certifying as well as to manufacturing of packagings.

Systems of acceptance criteria for independent laboratories and for the packaging industry have been set up which shall assure security and quality:

• Quality reference systems for the independent laboratories which are member of the organization. These criteria and rules are based on the third party philosophy and refer to testing and certifying.
  
  
• Quality production verification systems for the producers which shall guarantee a high quality level of products coming on the market. These criteria and rules are split into items designed for transport of dangerous goods and into items designed for non-dangerous goods. Both of the production verification systems are based on the ISO 16106 and on the current running production verification systems in the field of dangerous goods.
  
  

The Q-Inpalab services are available to every company and every association world wide. Self-certifying companies do not fulfill Q-Inpalab conditions and can not take advantage of Q-Inpalab services.
